Course Duration: 6 Months (24 Weeks)
Class Frequency: 3–4 Days/Week Mode: Offline / Hybrid
Month 1: Foundation of Fashion & Design • Basics of fashion illustration & garment detailing
- Understanding body proportions & silhouettes
- Identifying client needs & market trends • Introduction to fabrics & sourcing locations
- Visit to fabric markets (Lajpat Nagar, Nehru Place)
Activity: Create a small design sketchbook & swatch library
Month 2: Textile & Surface Techniques
- Textile techniques: Tie-dye, batik, block printing, bleaching
- Introduction to embroidery and embellishment
- Learning about fabrics used in fast fashion
- How to identify low-cost yet appealing materials
Activity: Create a mini textile sample board
Month 3: Basic Stitching & Garment Construction
- Learning machine handling & finishing
- Stitching of basic garments: kurti, tops, skirts, co-ord sets
- Understanding pattern reading & alteration
- Fitting & finishing for clients
Activity: Stitch your own sample look
Month 4: Fast Fashion & Product Development
- Designing for quick turnover fashion
- How to plan capsule collections for sale
- Trend-based ideas for Indian + western fusion wear
- Sourcing vendors, masters & artisans
Activity: Develop a 2-look mini collection
Month 5: Boutique & Brand Setup
- How to start your boutique/home label
- Low-investment strategies for production
- Budget planning & pricing garments • Marketing through Instagram / WhatsApp / local exhibitions
Activity: Create your brand mood board & lookbook
Month 6: Final Project & Presentation • Prepare a 3-look collection
- Photoshoot & client presentation
- Showcase in a mini exhibition or pop-up
- Final evaluation: Design + Execution + Presentation
Outcome: Students will be able to design, stitch, style & sell their own fashion line with minimal investment.
