Fashion Trend during Upcoming Summer Season in India

Innovation and creativity blended with technology is the base of fashion industry and integration of sustainability with eco-friendly materials plays a crucial role in making a fashion trending.

With Globalization & advancement in Information Technology the fashion trend across the globe changes rapidly and India is not an exception, but India where Unity in Diversity prevails and several culture mix together to showcase Indian Culture there is great speculation that during upcoming Summer season the fashion trend will exhibit blend of tradition with modernity, but Global Warming will play a crucial role in selection of an outfit.

Sustainable and Eco Friendly Fashion

It is evident that selection of brand by the consumers generally depends on the use of sustainable and eco-friendly materials coupled with its fabric, colour and style that ultimately plays a major role in selection of the outfit. People are more educated and aware than before and prefer upcycled designs and biodegradable fabrics. People prefer technological innovations and prefer 3-D printed garments that is truly tech infused and they understand that technology complements creativity and functionality in fashion design.

Gender-Neutral Style

In 2025 Gender –Neutral styles are appreciated as fashion industry is becoming all the more inclusive. It is evident from the present trend that soon Gender-Neutral trend will broaden and it will break the traditional gender boundaries and will position this trend in the mainstream.

Brighter Colour and Graphic Prints

The study of preference of people reveals that fashion landscape will be decorated with bold, bright colours besides graphic prints. Loud designs will be preferred option, but minimalism will have a spot in fashion. The study predicts that clean lines, neutral hues and classy silhouettes will be appreciated for versatile wardrobes.

Virtual Fashion

Innovations and creativity crafted by fashion designers on digital platform have far reaching positive impact on buying behaviour of the consumers. Consumers select their preference on competitive prices across different platforms as per their taste and requirement .Now-a-days ‘Virtual Fashion’ and its impact cannot be under estimated and its pronounced effect is surprising the market not only in India, but across the globe.

Athleisure and Comfortable Fashion

Athleisure and comfortable fashion is trending and is preferable seeing the busy schedule and present corporate culture. In big cities, fashionable cool sneakers and sweat pants are much preferred by individuals while travelling as they are fusion of fashion and functionality in styles.

Selection of Fabrics

With regards to fabrics people generally prefer light weight fabrics that are light weight, comfortable and stylish. Hence for this fabric people prefer Chiffon, Georgette and cotton. Next ‘Linen’ is also the choice from which flowy linen pants, dresses and shirts are made that provides comfort. In Northern Plain ‘Mesh’ fabric is adorned from which breathable mesh tops and dresses are prepared that are ideal to remain cool. To add grace to the outfit ‘Sheer Fabrics’ are in demand that can be seen in Organza and Chiffon.

Colour Selection

When the colour of outfit is concerned, it ranges from pastel tones to hot pink and can include bold prints. In ‘Pastel tones’ shades like pink, lavender and baby blue are popular for soft and elegant look. With regard to ‘Bold Prints’ vibrant eye catching pattern is in demand that showcases animal prints or geometric designs and exhibits a splash of fun to any outfit. With regard to ‘Hot Pink’ colour it can be acclaimed as a very colour choice that supplements a bold and vibrant statement to outfits.

Styling

After Fabric selection and colour choice the next important is style that can range from ‘Drapes’ to ‘Cargo Jeans’ including matching sets that comes in various patterns and fabrics that ranges from casual cotton to silk that exhibits luxurious draping. ’Drapes’ that are primarily concerned with female outfits are trending not only in western countries but in India also. In India ‘Drapes’ can be seen in the form of sarees, gowns, Kurta plazo sets and lehangas etc. Amongst youths Cargo jeans are much common and trendy not only in males, but amongst females and kids also.

In India ethnic wear includes Banarasi sarees, handloom dresses and Kanchipuram Sarees, Lehangas etc. in case of females and Kurta Payzama, Sherwani and Dhoti etc in case of males. These ethnic wear give tough competition to modern wear and people prefer blend of both to showcase their culture with aspiration to show modernity also.

Preference of people region-wise

In urban centres and generally in cosmopolitan city, the selection of outfit commences from its sustainability parameter followed by consideration of fabric, colour and style parameters. Ethnic wear can be seen in cultural or regional functions that cannot be under estimated even though fabric, colour and style play a very crucial role.

In North India due to the variance in weather conditions people generally prefer cotton and linen fabrics to keep themselves cool and comfortable. In Western India, mesh fabric being is also a good option to keep oneself cool.

In South India with regards to fabrics Cotton fabric is preferable seeing the humid condition. Humidity triggers sweating and to keep oneself comfortable cotton is preferred.

In Eastern and North Eastern part of the country, Cotton and Chiffon is preferable option seeing the weather condition.

The colour of the outfit depends on the occasion and time on which the given outfit is to be worn.

Emergence of social media has touched the nerves of youths and people residing in rural areas also prefer to keep themselves in touch of the prevailing fashion trend and try to adopt the trending fashion, but their selection is biased due to rural culture that has pronounced effect in selection of any outfit.

It can be concluded that Fashion Industry is experiencing a radical change with the advent of innovations, creativity and fusion of technology by the fashion designers that guarantees sustainability and use of eco-friendly materials for the outfits as per the requirement of the consumers and thus making a great impact in the country’s economy that affects the global economy also.
